Arcanai Monastica

Arcanai Monastica was the most common mythology within the Arcan Federation, and is the Arcan equivalent to the Greek Mythology of Earth. It was a polytheistic doctrine, as well, which believed nearly every part of nature had a Deity which controlled it and/or created it. Also like the Greek Mythology, the Deities of Arcanai Monastica were said to be capable of dying. They were seen as immortal until another being killed them and took their place upon Rodina Redeker.

According to the Arcanai Monastica, the MultiVerse as it is was created by the Undraethi, who had existed since the times when The Satanis was the only thing in existence. The Undraethi created the MultiVerse by combining 1/4th of their total Arcane Abilities to form the force known as Nature. However, the Nature of the Universe was harsh and needed regulation in order to sustain life, so the Undraethi once more combined 1/4th of their total Arcane Abilities to form the Gods, the Regulators of Nature. Eventually, however, most of the Gods dissatisfied the Undraethi and they were stripped of their abilities one by one until they became mere mortals. Thus, more and more powers had to be endowed upon other Gods.

Over time, a portion of the mortals were once more granted Arcane Abilities when they regained the respect of the Undraethi. Some only earned a few of their abilities back, while others gained a large majority of them back. The highest beings other than the Gods are referred to as many things throughout the Universe. In most regions they are referred to as the Archons or Dark Archons, some are called the Orici, and yet others are known as the Cimmerii. On rare occasion the mortals have regained all respect of the Undraethi and became Gods, but it is very rare for this to occur, as was stated before.

Below is a list of and details upon the Deities from the Arcanai Monastica, including a more in depth look at the Undraethi.

The Undraethi

The Undraethi were the Deities of Arcane Abilities. They fueled the "magic" that the Cimmerii and Saevions, including all OuterVersal beings, withheld. It was said that all creatures once held these Arcane abilities, but when they performed deeds that infuriated the Undraethi, they were stripped of their abilities one by one to their current state.

The Undraethi were the oldest and most important Deities of the Arcanai Monastica, because they were responsible for the beings referred to as the Gods. The Gods were the only beings that had never dissatisfied the Undraethi; or, if they had, to have regained the Undraethi's respect enough to return to the level of the Gods. They were the only Deities that did not have to live in fear of being replaced on there thrones, unlike the Gods.

There were fabled to be only three Undraethi left, as the number was greatly diminished due to infighting which destroyed much of the holy lands of Undraeth. The lands of Undraeth periodically experienced earthquakes in the times of the Arcanai Monastica, which in effect caused great storms to form in the seas and skies of Arcis and Saevio. These occurrences were attributed to the anniversary of the end of the infighting amongst the Undraethi, and were the basis for the first calendar system used on Arcis. The Undraethi were named Balok (center), Dantrag (left), and Ildan (right).
