The Modernist Party is currently the top vote-grossing political party within the Arcan Federation. The Modernists believe in Democratic Socialist policies such as: centre-left economic strategies; social progressivism; fair trade; etc. As well, the Modernist Party have "true" constitutionalist sympathies, according to most observers, as all political parties of the Arcan Federation claim to have; to which constitution is another issue entirely.
The party is the surviving remnants of the Party of Arcan Socialists, which was formed by Former Emperor/Chancellor/Premier Arturis Clark I after the formation of the Arcan Federation. Much of this honored leader's political philosophies still remain as the basis of the party to this day, and the party has commemorated him in as many ways imaginable, including erecting a statue of him which stands 60 feet tall at the forefront of their Consulate Hall in the Terra Kremlin, just in front of the speaker's podium.
